Davao Oriental, Occidental, Compostela Valley to Join Visit Davao Fun Sale 2016
The provinces of Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental and Compostela Valley now have the chance to showcase their beautiful tourists destinations through this year's Visit Davao Fun Sale (VDFS), which will start from March 25, 2016 and will end on May 31, 2016.
Visit Davao Fun Sale (VDFS) is the country's first and longest region-wide tourism event, aims at promoting amazing and beautiful tourists destinations, culture, food and adventure in the region. Now with the inclusion of 3 more provinces, this year's VDFS is definitely more fun!
This year's Visit Davao Fun Sale is categorized into three themes: adventure and sports, culture and arts, and party, fun and leisure. Also this year's tours will feature ten discounted tour packages, including Samal beach and agricultural destinations, as well as Mt. Apo trekking adventure.
According to Benjie Lizada, VDFS executive committee chairman:
“Year after year, our direction is always for expansion in terms of the number of participating establishments, discounts, tourism destinations and packages. Hopefully next year Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley and Occidental will be included,” he said, adding that there are a lot of potential tourism destinations and activities in these provinces."
DOT Davao Regional Director Roberto Alabado III said that this year's VDFS is all about the idea of making the tourism project region wide and this can be achieved.
“With these 10 package tours we will be able to gather different markets with various interests, with more tour packages we are expecting that we can achieve or level the 42 percent increase in tourist receipts within the VDFS period last year,”
