It's the month of August once again, which means it is time for Kadayawan Festival. Also known as the "King of Festivals", Davao City will be celebrating the 31st Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival, a celebration for a bountiful harvests for the past year, and also to remember the contribution of the 11 Tribes of Davao to the success of the city.

This year's celebration according to Vice Mayor Paolo "Pulong" Duterte, will be made simple and will focus on the tribes, the indigenous people and the lumads - to remember their sufferings and struggles. The 31st Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2016 will be from August 15- 21 2016, which will be highlighted by the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan, Hiyas ng Kadayawan and Pamulak sa Kadayawan Floral Float Parade. There were also be meaningful activities throughout the week-long celebration like Dula Kadayawan for Indigenous and Muslim traditional games, Subang Sinugdanan (tribal fluvial parade) and more.  (Refer to the picture above for the tentative schedule of events)
