Pahalipay Rewards Donation For Typhoon Odette Victims Reached 90,000+ Food Packs Donated by Dabawenyos
Last December, City Government of Davao announced to give pahalipay rewards gift to Dabawenyos who are registered in Safe Davao Qr (the QR code used in Davao City for contract tracing purposes). Each registered safe-dqr user is entitled to 1 grocery pack to be claimed in participating supermarkets and malls near the address of the QR bearer. Each grocery pack contains 5 kilos of uncooked rice, 10 pcs assorted canned goods and 1 pack spaghetti pasta.
Weeks after the start of claiming and after several provinces in Visayas and Mindanao were devastated by typhoon Odette, one private citizen suggested to the administrators of safe-qr to include a donate button option where Dabawenyos who wished to donate their grocery packs to Odette victims. This suggestion did not fall to deaf ears as safe-qr administrators listened to the suggestion and included a donate button option.
Majority of Dabawenyos showed a very positive response to the donation drive as more than 70,000 dabawenyos opted to donate their grocery gift packs to Odette victims. As of January 5, there are over 90,000 food packs donated and distributed to different cities and provices badly hit by the typhoon.
This is indeed a very noble act by Dabawenyos to donate their pahalipay rewards to fellow Filipinos in need. There are still a lot of people in Dinagat Island, Siargao, Surigao, Agusan, Negros who are in much need of food, clothing and shelter.
If you have note claimed yet your pahalipay rewards grocery pack and want to donate it instead, here's how to do it.
