The Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) has released its new rotational brownout schedule for the rest of the week (starting March 3,2014) for the entire Davao City. The said power interruption schedule was published on their official Facebook account.

New rotating outage scheme
March 3, 2014 at 9:06am
With the current critical power supply situation in Mindanao, Davao Light & Power Co. tries its best to manage electricity distribution efficiently among its customers.
Inits effort of providing for a more equitable sharing of the remaining available power, Davao Light and Power Co. introduces a new rotating power interruption scheme.
Starting Monday, March 3, the existing schedule per group will be rotated for the whole week. Example, if your schedule in the present scheme is between 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, you will now be in the 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM schedule for two consecutive days.
Davao Light has implemented one-hour rotating power interruptions in its franchise since February 27. It will continue until notice from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) to lift its implementation is received.
Implementation of the rotating outages contributes to avoiding total collapse of the entire Mindanao transmission grid, which happens when the demand for power exceeds the available supply.
Davao Light apologizes to its consumers for the inconvenience brought about by these power interruptions which are beyond its control.
